Mexico Lindo is a small, inexpensive place with good food that actually tastes like something people would eat in Mexico. Here, I have found the type of food I grew up with – I am originally from Tampico, Mexico – and great service from the family that owns and runs the place.
At Mexico Lindo, you won’t find the thick enchiladas with sweet salsa smothered with yellow cheese that you typically find in Mexican style restaurants in the USA. Their enchiladas are made with fresh corn tortillas and garnished with shredded lettuce and fresh cheese.
Their menu has plenty of choices, including vegetarian options (try the cheese quesadillas) as well as daily specials such as Pozole (from Nahuatl), the traditional Mexican soup that dates to pre-Columbian times.
Mexico Lindo also offers a good representation of regional dishes such as pambazos from Veracruz , a dish made from special bread dipped in a red pepper sauce and filled with a guiso (filling) frijoles refritos (refried beans) and garnished with shredded lettuce, salsa, cream and queso fresco (fresh cheese).
Located in downtown Lynn, it is a low key, casual place. Not the best place for a first date, but definitely one of the best places to get authentic Mexican food in Lynn.
