2012/2556 – The Year of the Dragon. Here are a few photos from today’s celebration on Lynn Common.

A crowd gathers by the stage, set in front of the Frederick Douglass Bandstand on the Lynn Common, for a full day’s worth of entertainment, including speeches from local pols, fashion shows, dance troupes, and live music.

Asian food was available from a variety of vendors and community organizations set up information tables around the perimeter.

Placed centrally near the stage – this represents a good harvest.

Children playing familiar games with a cultural twist (or pull in this case).

Festival volunteers start a dance session, others soon join in.

Community Recognition Awards and a raffle before the band Fanta-Z begins playing.

Zachary Say receives a check for his winning T-Shirt design representing the Year of the Dragon, presented by Harry Shnur.

The Cambodian flag on the Common, also raised at City Hall

Thank you! I’ll add his name under the photo. Sorry for the less-than-professional job. I usually try to get names. However, yesterday’s schedule was very hectic.
