LCA’s 4th Annual Fall Resource Fair Takes Place Tuesday, Oct 23

Lynn Community Association will host its 4th Annual Fall Resource Fair on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2013 at the William P. Connery Elementary School, 50 Elm Street in Lynn, from 6 – 8:00 p.m.

There is no charge for admission and the fair is open to the public. This year’s fair will include what have now become some old standby’s, including a huge raffle and a clinic by the Lynn Health Department providing free flu vaccines. Though the vaccines are free to recipients, participants are asked to bring their insurance cards.

According to LCA president, Mary Trahan, “Many local service agencies will be participating again this year, and it is a wonderful opportunity for residents of all ages to learn about resources in the city and get that needed flu shot without missing work.”

A new program of the Lynn Police Department, Parents360, will be offered in two 30-minute sessions during the fair, which will accommodate about 20 parents per session. Parents360 is designed to teach parents to recognize risks and how to talk with their children about drugs and alcohol.

The Fair will run concurrently with Connery Elementary’s 2012 Open House for parents, and teacher’s rooms will be open for those parents to meet with their children’s teachers. Parking is available on-street and to a limited degree in the school’s parking lot.

Table space is limited, but there still are a few slots available for more agencies. Interested organizations can visit the website listed below to register online. Registration deadline is October 18th.

The mission of Lynn Community Association is to promote pride and ownership in the Lynn community through beautification, education, recreation, and neighborly relationships. For more information on the event and LCA, you can visit the web site,
