Lynn City Rhyme, The Sequel

Spread the love

Here’s a new answer to the old ditty, originally shared on Mildred’s Corner Cafe and Shoppe facebook page and published with the author’s permission:

Lynn, Lynn, a place to begin
A place near the ocean,
A place where you win.
food, music and kin
in schools and in clothing,
And museums of Lynn.

It’s true you don’t go out
The way you come in:
You’re wiser, you’re tougher,
Thinner and buffer,
(Food Project, the boardwalk
The 5 ks, please don’t balk).
I’ve left and I’m sorry,
I miss it a lot.

Spread the love

For National Poetry Month, poets like me are drawing names and giving away books at the end of April to people who comment on their blog. In addition, this week (until April 11th), I will send a signed postcard of this poem to anyone who comments on my blog. Here is the link to my page. (If you have trouble posting, send me an email with your email so I can get your address):
