To the Citizens of Lynn:

The Lynn Historical Commission announces the nomination period for the 2013 Significance Awards. In its third year, the Significance Awards honor recipients in the categories of Residential, Commercial / Non-profit, and Public / Open Space. The purpose is to raise the awareness of and give appreciation for significant restorations or preservations of historic structures and sites in our city. Previous years’ Significance Awards went to the former Lydia Pinkham home on Western Ave., the Goldfish Pond (Association}, and the business conversion at the former Wyoma Square Library. A special ‘Devotion Award’ was given to Dr. Millard Bass for his on-going restoration of a home in the Diamond District, and to St. Mary’s Parish for their steeple restoration.

This year’s Significance Awards nomination forms are now ready and the Lynn Historical Commission is seeking worthy submissions from the Lynn citizens at large. The form is available through the City of Lynn website, historiclynn.com, The Lynn Historical Commission, in hard copy form at public venues, or by calling 781-599-4666. The nominations must be in by 5pm on April 26. Any later submissions will be honored for next year’s awards. The Lynn Historical Commissioners will deliberate and view the nominees and will vote at their meeting on May 7 for the award recipients. The Significance Awards will be presented in a ceremony at the Lynn Historical Commission’s June 4 meeting.

Sincerely, Calvin Anderson & Katerina Panagiotakis Koudanis, Co- chairs
