On Saturday, November 9th, beginning at 6:00 AM and continuing through 10:00 AM work crews will implement a new traffic pattern on the section of Route 107 in the area of the Belden G. Bly – Foxhill Drawbridge at the Lynn/Saugus line as part of the opening of a new temporary drawbridge.
Once the new temporary bridge is opened to traffic, traffic on Route 107 will be reduced from two lanes to one lane in each direction approaching the bridge.
Appropriate signs, channelizing devices and traffic control measures will be used to guide drivers through the new traffic pattern.
MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the area.
The work is part of an $11.8 million project to construct a temporary drawbridge. The temporary bridge will provide for vehicular and marine traffic until such time as the existing bridge is removed and a new permanent drawbridge is constructed under a future contract.
