Review – Dumb and Dumber To

Spread the love

Review by Lynn resident Steve Duffy –

Dumb and Dumber To is set 20 years after the first film. Lloyd (Jim Carrey) and Harry (Jeff Daniels) are still the same buffoons but a lot older.

If you recall from the first film, Harry and Lloyd mention a woman named Fraida Felcher. The storyline for this film focuses on Harry becoming convinced that he’s got a daughter named Penny (Rachel Melvin) by Fraida (Kathleen Turner) who he’s never met.

While some scenes will make you burst with laughter, most of the movie will leave you feeling annoyed and exhausted at Harry and Lloyd’s misadventures. The storyline is filled with too much gross-out humor which may leave you feeling uncomfortable.

I found it somewhat sad watching Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, both actors of a certain age, trying to energetically recapture the characters that made them popular.

If you are looking for nostalgia, I would just watch the original Dumb and Dumber.

PG-13 for crude and sexual humor, partial nudity, language and some drug references

Run Time: 1 hr. 49 min.
