Review by Lynn resident Steve Duffy –
What better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of a holiday classic RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER than to watch him and his friends come to life on the stage.
Based on the classic 1964 television special, the stage show closely follows the (verbatim) the North Pole adventures of Rudolph, Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelius as they learn what makes us different and special.
Everyone from Rudolph to the nasally voiced Hermey the Elf looked like they were transported right out of your TV set. Even Sam the Snowman’s costume made it look like he was gliding across the stage.
The kids will love the puppets – from the forest animals to toys who live on the Island of Misfit Toys. They were adorable and I would have taken them home.
The score includes your favorite songs such as “We’re a Couple of Misfits,” “Holy Jolly Christmas,” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.” There’s even a sing-a-long for everyone to take part in.
This is the perfect holiday show for the children in your life, especially if you want to introduce them to live theatre.
Show runs 90 minutes including intermission
