He will take the Garden by storm this weekend.
SD: What if anything do you remember about the last show you played here in Boston?
GB: I do remember it was called the Fleet Center. I performed 3 shows and I do remember thinking how great the Boston fans are.
SD: After so many years of being absent from Country music, what does it feel like coming out of retirement?
GB: It is like going back to school for me. I’m 52 years old and I know my dream of being called to play baseball isn’t going to happen. I have really enjoyed raising my kids, but it is now time for me to come back to my roots.
SD: Do you have any favorite current country singers that you are listening to?
GB: I love Joe Nichols. For a young guy, he has a great talent. As for female country singers, I love Miranda Lambert. She is a powerhouse. I do wish we would have more female country singers.
SD: What can your fans expect to see and hear at the show?
GB: I will be playing the old songs, because those are the songs the fans want to hear. I will be performing some new stuff too.
SD: Any sightseeing plans while you are in town?
GB: Trisha did the 3-Day for the Cure here about 4 years ago, so she has all kinds of plans for us. I’ll be excited for anything she has planned.
