Review by Lynn resident Steve Duffy –
A hard-working small business owner (Vince Vaughn) and his two associates (Tom Wilkinson, Dave Franco) travel to Europe to close the most important deal of their lives. But what began as a routine business trip goes off the rails in every imaginable – and unimaginable – way, including unplanned stops at a massive sex fetish event and a global economic summit.
We have all seen this same old Vaughn routine; he will do anything to get a laugh, which fails to deliver.
Wilkinson portrays a cursing and overly sexed old guy that comes off as too raunchy, while Franco plays the annoying sidekick that you want to push off the side of a mountain.
Sienna Miller turns up occasionally as Vaughn’s bullying boss, Chuck.
The formula that director Ken Scott (Delivery Man) uses is a failed one that we have already watched in the Hangover franchise.
This is one brainless business trip that you do not want to take. I suggest you either spend your money on “Chappie” or “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, “ which also opens this weekend.
R for some strong risqué sexual content/graphic nudity, and for language and drug use
Run Time: 1 hr. 30 min.
