Your band, pub, bar, club or what-have-you can be featured in Bars of Lynn very simply. Have an employee or happy patron post a photo to facebook or twitter with the hashtag #barsoflynn. If you’re using facebook, it won’t work if your privacy settings are fairly tight, but you can still share to the LynnHappens page. If you’re social media adverse, you can use firstname.lastname@example.org. Photos can be from during the week, too! Oh, and don’t forget to credit the photographer if it isn’t you, and name the folks in it – first names are okay.
Your editor started the weekend covering the St. Mary’s Spartan Casino Night where tables were set up offering beer and wine (with tickets). A temporary bar is still a bar. For more photos, see the full post linked above.
Over at the Blue Ox, Charlie Gaeta poured a couple of whiskey flights. The Ox has a selection of brews and spirits from New England and even Essex County – try something local. Also, ask Charlie about his Smoked Bourbon and Bacon Bourbon. Bourbon. And Rye.
Every Friday from 8pm to 11pm Andrew Geano (pictured) hosts an open mic in the front bar at Fran’s Place.
Local blues legend Robert Leger and his band played Celley’s. Since the last time the Happens was there, the high stage with its deck railing came down. The new stage shows the bar’s dedication to live music.
On the way to the Brickyard Saturday night – a caution, just in case.
Inside the Brickyard, Chuck from Buchanan Cafe with Sharon. Thanks to whoever had a hand in making this picture possible.
Playing at the Brickyard Saturday night, MSF:
The Boston Pub Rockers were over at JD’s on Lewis Street.
Order your drink responsibly from Lauren.
The bar at JD’s is a piece (or at least pieces) of Lynn history. It was fashioned out of the bar of the long-gone Smuggler’s Cove Pub.
…back to the band. It doesn’t feel right to not get pictures of all of them.
