Volunteers Martine Georges, Nailah and son sign out DPW loaned brooms and rakes from LCA President Tyron Hawkins.

The Lynn Community Association’s 6th Annual Clean Sweep to the Sea was held Saturday with volunteers cleaning up various locations throughout the city.

Yellow garbage bags, gloves and cleaning implements were available courtesy of the Lynn DPW.

The post-cleanup picnic was co-sponsored by the Downtown Lynn Neighborhood Association and held in the Lynn Museum Park. Your LynnHappens editor volunteered DJ services while pizza, water, chips and other goodies were donated by State Representative Brendan Crighton, City Council President Dan Cahill, Ward 6 Councilor Peter Capano and School Committee member and Councilor-at-Large candidate Rick Starbard.

There would be more photos of the action if your editor wasn’t occupied with selecting tunes.

Your Happens editor and the Downtown Lynn Neighborhood Association would also like to thank The Lynn Museum and staff, Jolene Kelly, Ken Coder, Michael Cassetta, Jamie Figueroa, Sean Reid, and Joshua Adam Goodwin for their help on the picnic. Feel free to embarrass me if I left anyone out.
