The owner of the commercial spaces under the tracks on Mt. Vernon Street hopes to create an outdoor arts market and is advertising on Craigslist.
There are loft-style apartments across the street, the Lynn Museum / LynnArts campus starts at the end of the street, and with the farmer’s markets and other activities in the Downtown Lynn Cultural District, developer Cisco Meneses hopes his property can join in the progress.
The dates for the outdoor market so far are October 3rd, 4th and November 28th and 29th from 10am to 3pm.
His name for it is “North Shore’s IronBound Entertainment District,” in reference to the rails.
The tents are on private property. Vendors would only need a single license from City Hall rather than the array of licenses most shops require.
Meneses is adamant that only original work be sold and he is also seeking acoustic musicians.
