Raw Art Works to Host Annual BASH: Party with a Purpose Fundraiser
Raw Art Works (RAW) will be hosting its annual BASH: Party with a Purpose fundraiser on Saturday May 7th, from 7:30-11:30pm, in their studio and gallery space, 37 Central Square in downtown Lynn. Tickets are available in advance of the event at www.rawartworks.org and they sold out last year.
Raw Art Works (RAW) believes that all kids should be SEEN and HEARD and passionately pursues its mission to ignite the desire to create and the confidence to succeed in underserved youth. For nearly three decades, RAW has been committed to helping kids tell their stories through the arts. They respond creatively to compelling questions focused on what is really going on in their lives. Within RAW’s culture of care and safety, kids create in unexpected ways, envision new possibilities, and transform their lives. RAW’s programs are provided free of charge. RAW offers visual and expressive arts groups, film school classes, leadership development, and teen employment programming.
“RAW Believer” tickets are available for $150 and include a pre-party beginning at 6:30pm which gives guests an opportunity to meet with the artists who created the work, the ability to preview artwork the crowds come, and a special selection of appetizers from Bambolina. Regular tickets for 7:30 entrance are on sale for $100 each, and includes food and beverages.
Founder Mary Flannery says of BASH 2016: “Last year the room exploded! From the moment we opened the doors, people poured in ready to absorb the importance of our mission while feeling the RAW pARTy with a purpose full on fun. Everyone left with a glow, knowing they stepped up to support a program that ignites a sense of confidence in every youth. ”
The artists whose work will be represented in the auction are alumni of RAW’s program, most of who are current art school students or graduates of college art programs. The night also includes a “Sponsor-a-Kid” portion of the live auction where guests can donate to sponsor an entire year of programming for a Lynn child or teen.
