On Saturday, May 21, 2016 there was a cleanup of Warren Street Park in West Lynn organized by Estee Nack with assistance by the extraordinarily active Wreck Shop Movement and collaborators.

*Some of the folks who were involved in the cleanup attended this Community Forum on Parks and Open Space hosted by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council on March 30th at the Police Station. They’re part of a group called the 5% Nation and have been involved in cleaning parks since 2012.

Editor’s note: It’s not too often there’s a community cleanup that doesn’t require getting up too early after a long night working or playing. This cleanup was 1:30pm – 5:30pm. It’s also not often a cleanup has music, performances and games. So it seems, one can mix work, play, performance and community building all while cleaning a park. Nicely done!
