Photos from Saturday’s Rock the Block Party

The spurts of rain Saturday didn’t keep everyone away. Folks still turned out for the Rock the Block Party, thrown by the Downtown Lynn Cultural District and partners with live music, food, gallery exhibits, artist/vendor tables and more.

Performers included School of Rock, Crystal Pan Jammers, Camino Al Exceso, Cultura Latina Dance Academy, Wreck Shop Movement and headliners Tigerman WOAH!

Bentwater Brewery of Lynn had a tent for the adults and RAW Art Works had activities for kids. Lynn Museum / LynnArts were open for indoor exhibits. The Food Project was on hand to let folks know about their community garden, CSA and farmer’s markets. Plus, there was the slider-decider, a slider eating contest sponsored by John’s Roast Beef and a Fluff-off, or fluff recipe contest. Forgive me for not detailing everything and getting names for all the photos. Your LynnHappens editor was doing sound and managing the stage. Almost all of these photos are courtesy of others.

The following gallery is courtesy of Bob Bond, Below that are photos from Isaac S Photography, who also brought some Off the Grid Photographers, a project started by the Lynn Shelter Association in order to bring homelessness awareness through photography. (Those photos will be available for viewing at an exhibit September 17th.) Owner of the storefronts under the tracks along Mt. Vernon Street, Cisco Meneses, took photos and a video – check out his IronBound NorthShore page. Lastly, there will be some instagrams I took while running sound and a few other stray photos. Feel free send in yours and they’ll be added below!
