Organized by young folks including Raven and Arianna Jones and moderated by Darrell Murkison the peaceful gathering occurred by the historic Frederick Douglass Bandstand on Lynn Common.

As it began to rain, the some in the crowd raised their umbrellas but none left. The names of victims of violence were read, signs were held and those who wanted to speak their minds were invited to do so. Lynn Police were present and all seemed to be cordial.

Given that it was a peaceful event, some of the officers diverted their attention to helping folks who were attempting to use the crosswalks on North and South Common Streets, which isn’t easy. Also, lots of kids were on either side of the bandstand, playing Pokemon Go and soccer.
