The Grand Army of the Republic in downtown Lynn was open for tours this weekend as part of Essex County Trails and Sails. Over one-hundred people toured the landmark. Also open for Trails and Sails, the Lynn Museum, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for its Tiffany windows, and guided walks in Lynn Woods and Pine Grove Cemetery. Your LynnHappens editor spotted a group of participants with a tour guide being shown other downtown landmarks, such as the Capital Diner, as well.

The city-owned landmark is currently under repair, with some windows boarded and awaiting replacements and other building envelope issues being addressed.

All of these events were listed in the LynnHappens calendar. Don’t miss another thing – visit the calendar, often! If you’d like to add a community or arts event, send it in!

The pictures do not do this building justice.
