Whether your brew of choice is from barley or apples, the 7th annual History and Hops had you covered.
Attendees sampled various brews from Bent Water Brewing Co. of Lynn, Far From The Tree Cider (Salem), Downeast Cider (Charlestown), Ipswich, Narragansett (RI), and the just-getting-started Agapé Brewing Community (501c3 in Gloucester). There was also a cash bar with other brews, including a couple that were gluten free. Food included pretzels, sausages, hot dogs and trimmings one associates with fall and foamy beverages.
For the “History” in History and Hops, Bent Water Brewing Company put together a brief presentation on the history of brewing.
Music was DJ’d by your LynnHappens editor, Seth Albaum, and included lots of beer-themed songs and old radio jingles by Schlitz, Rheingold, Blatz, Black Label etc. – putting a little brewing history in the music.
Afterwards, folks were encouraged to visit the Bent Water Brewing Co. taproom on Commercial Street for the official after party.
The History and Hops fundraiser supports Lynn Museum/LynnArts educational and artistic programming.
