A Snow Emergency has been declared for this storm, Lynn Public Schools, as we previously posted, will be closed, and a parking ban begins at midnight tonight. The flashing blue lights go on at 10pm (as does the one in the LynnHappens header).
DPW Commissioner Andrew Hall said in an emailed statement, “Trash and recycling (blue week) collection will be delayed by at least one day.”
Commissioner Hall also reminds us that during a snow emergency, “No vehicles may park on a public street or sidewalk. You may face a $155 tow fee and a $35 a day storage fee in addition to parking tickets.”
An excerpt from that page reads –

TRASH INFORMATION from City Councilor at Large Brian LaPierre –
“Due to the late start today for trash and recycling waste management may not complete today’s routes. We are telling people to take their carts in this evening.
Thursday trash will be delayed one day.
Any missed trash and recycling on Wednesday and the one day delay on Thursdays trash day will be picked up on Friday.
Friday’s trash will be on Saturday.”
We’ll place the customary blue flashing light gif in the header later tonight. No need to cause an early panic.
