The Knights of Pythias was full Saturday night for what Mark Boland billed as the “First Annual Rock for a Reason.” Four local bands played the fundraiser for the Melanson Charitable Corporation Open Arms Scholarship and My Brother’s Table – Treading Water, The Dirty Floorboards, Set The Nation and Monkey Knife Fight.

The Open Arms Scholarship is named in memory of Anthony Melanson and is awarded to a qualifying Lynn Classical Senior. The Melanson Charitable Corporation also organizes an annual pub crawl for the cause.

My Brother’s Table is the largest soup kitchen on the North Shore, open 365 days a year, and located at 98 Willow Street in Lynn.
