Rain didn’t stop people from turning out to clean sections of Lynn Woods, the Community Path in West Lynn, Ames Playground, Kylie Park or the downtown. For the Sisson PTO cleanup at 3pm, the rain had ended.
The Downtown Lynn Beautification Project, organized by Soraya Cacici, re-installed planters removed during construction, cleaned up the soil around sidewalk trees in Central Square and planted flowers. One Community One Voice, organized by Lisa Wallace, removed trash and debris from the Community Path along with volunteers from Bike to the Sea. Friends of Lynn Woods, North Shore Community College and Ranger Dan got the band back together for the annual Earth Fest, a cleanup followed by pizza and music by Kirsten & Dave (joined by Jamie on bass). The Lynn Youth Health Alliance cleaned Ames and Kylie Parks (apologies for missing Kylie photos). The Sisson PTO cleanup had a lot of help from students, parents and Lynn Teachers Union members. In many cases, rakes, brooms and other equipment was provided by the Lynn DPW.
