From the Lynn Police Department facebook page

Over the past several years there has been an increase in the amount of Off-Highway Vehicles including ATV’s and dirt bikes operating on the streets of Lynn. Mass General Laws prohibit the operation of these vehicles on public ways. The Lynn Police Department recognizes that these vehicles are being operated in an unsafe manner and pose a threat to public safety. In some cases these reckless operators are looking for the police to engage them in a pursuit. The Lynn Police believe that pursuing these vehicles may create a greater danger to the public and therefore we are asking for the public’s help in locating these types of vehicles. The Lynn Police Department encourages anyone to contact us with information about the operators, where the operators are congregating or where the vehicles are being garaged. Please contact the department at 781-595-2000 or text a tip to 847411. All callers can remain anonymous.
