Film review by Steve Duffy –
Believing they have left behind shadowy figures from their past, newlyweds Christian and Ana fully embrace an inextricable connection and shared life of luxury. But just as she steps into her role as Mrs. Grey and he relaxes into an unfamiliar stability, new threats could jeopardize their happy ending before it even begins.
It’s finally here! The final chapter of one of the worst film franchises in history. It may have been based on the best-selling trilogy by E.L. James, but the books never really transferred its greatness to the big screen.
I will say this is, Dakota Johnson delivers her best acting as Anastasia Steele, although that doesn’t say much because she still can’t act her way out of a paper bag.
Jamie Dornan portrayal as Mr. Grey, the domineering and sex-obsessed billionaire is a campy delight.
There’s no escaping the pain of Fifty Shades Freed, but if you have to watch it, grab some popcorn, take a deep breath, and just submit.
RATING: R for strong sexual content, nudity, and language
RUNTIME: 105 minutes
