EDGES opens at the Lynn Arts’ Neal Rantoul Black Box Theatre in the LynnArts building on Friday, June 1st at 8:00 p.m.
EDGES is a song-cycle about four burgeoning adults asking classic coming-of-age questions. This charming, witty, and honest examination of adulthood explores what happens when we are teetering on the edges of our lives. The show is the first musical written by the Tony-nominated duo of Benji Pasek and Justin Paul, who wrote the music for movies like “The Greatest Showman” and “La La Land,” as well as the Tony Award-Winning musical, “Dear Evan Hansen.”
Directed by Lynn-native Catherine Bertrand, Arts After Hours’ production of EDGES stars Catherine Benjamin of Salem, Concetta Russo of Peabody, Krystal Scott of Fitchburg, and Nicole Viau of Malden. This is the first Arts After Hours production produced by new Artistic Director, Samantha Gambaccini.
“We are proud to start Season 8 with an all-female cast and female-led production team,” says Gambaccini. “EDGES is a show that most musical-buffs place on a pedestal, and yet it remains unknown to many. I am thrilled to reveal this show to Lynn because these songs are vocally stunning, ranging from hilarious to heartbreaking, and as a whole, take any level of theatre-goer on a journey.”
EDGES will premiere Friday June 1st at 8:00p.m with additional shows Saturday, June 2nd at 8:00 p.m., Sunday June 3rd at 4:00 p.m., Friday, June 8th at 8:00 p.m., Saturday June 9th at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday June 10th at 4:00 p.m.
