Theatre review by Steve Duffy –
Tea at Five
Don’t miss this legendary actress in an unforgettable performance!
Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway portrays Katharine Hepburn in the Pre-Broadway Premiere of the acclaimed play Tea at Five! Ensconced in her Fenwick home, a now retired Hepburn reflects on her turbulent childhood, her unlikely rise to stardom and her heart-breaking 27-year affair with Spencer Tracy.
Since Katharine Hepburn kept tight-lipped about her private life while alive, the veil is lifted on her remarkable career and personal life in this delightfully surprising bio-play.
Watching and listening to Faye Dunaway as Hepburn was a dream in itself. Although she doesn’t resemblance Hepburn, her mastery of the actress’s vocal and physical mannerisms certainly is amazing.
There are moments that you forget you are watching Dunaway and feel that it is only you and Hepburn in the room.
You are truly getting two Hollywood legends for the price of one.
