Marckenson Eustache of RAW helps Francielys Soriano Make a Tree Ornament
- On December 3rd, Third Thursdays put on quite a show following the Tree Lighting at City Hall. This gallery of thirty-five images barely covers it.
Entertainment and gifts were available at both LynnArts and the Lynn Museum. While Lynn Public School’s Jazz Band played LynnArts, the crowd was so thick it was tough to work one’s way into the gallery. Gifts are still available for purchase at both locations during their regular hours.
Meanwhile, another crowd formed at RAW to make holiday ornaments.
Out in Central Square, a DJ provided holiday tunes while people waited in line patiently for photos with Santa or balloon animals from the Comcast tent. There were also performances by Follow Hymn and two sets from the fire jugglers. And until they all ran out, revelers sampled chowder from local restaurants.
While it is true that Third Thursdays, as they have been organized by the Central Square Collaborative, are coming to an end, sources involved say that many of the popular events will continue, including the Item sponsored Dog Days Pageant, the 5k Run and this annual Holiday Tree Lighting. In addition, the opportunity is there to try new events out in the Square.

Wow! I missed quite the event. I can’t believe how many people were down there. This is incredible. Great idea to have the high school jazz band perform. Bring their parents downtown. We need more people from Ward 1-derful and Ward 7 to see what’s going on down here.
Nice work Lynn Arts and everyone else involved in the festivities!!!
