Public lecture: Field testing of a novel sampler for studying metals in the ocean

Presented by Dr. Amy Mueller, Assistant Professor, Department of Marine & Environmental Sciences

Understanding the concentration of trace metals, such as iron, is critical for building accurate ecosystem models that are used to manage the productive fisheries that support coastal economies and US food supply.  This talk will present a new water sampler that can be deployed at long-term study stations, on profilers, and on autonomous underwater vehicles to collect data at much higher spatial and temporal scales than has historically been possible from large scientific vessels and other in-situ instruments.
