On February 28th, 1860, women workers at the shoe and textile factories in Lynn walked the streets in a procession along with men to demand equal pay for their labor, for the same work done by men.
This was the largest industrial strike in the US. and it started in Lynn. This was a revolutionary proposal and a very brave move from women coming together and making this type of demand.
