I Can’t Stop Laughing!
comedy showcase

  • Pamela Ross
  • John Paul Rivera
  • Tricia Auld
  • …and host Nora Panahi

Free Admission. (We pass the hat/bucket for the performers)

Tricia Auld
is a Boston comedian whose career started table-side at an “upscale” establishment. It was there that she honed her craft on unsuspecting patrons until a handful of guests were offended by a “performance”. She was subsequently encouraged to resign. Since then, she has graced many bar tops, public restrooms, and any mirror she deems worthy.
Tricia has opened up about her struggle to break into the Boston comedy scene in an interview which was recently featured in DigBoston.
Tricia has performed at popular comedy venues such as Nick’s Comedy Stop, Dick’s Comedy Den, The Middle East, Phoenix Landing, Davis Square Theater, Johnny Ds, The Burren, ImprovBoston, The Comedy Studio, The Cannery Music Hall, The Shaskeen Pub, The Comedy Connection, and Laugh Boston.

Nora Panahi
is a Boston-based Iranian-American Muslim-Buddhist stand-up comedian with great bangs and an okay body. In March 2016 she became the first female comic to win ‘BU’s Funniest’ and everyone who knows her is tired of hearing her talk about it and how it makes her a feminist icon. She is not like other girls. She has since performed with Myq Kaplan, Rick Shapiro, Chris Hardwick, and Hannibal Buress, and they were all wowed by her. They didn’t tell her this but she could tell. She plays the ukulele.

Pamela Ross
is a Boston-based writer, comedian, and producer. She’s performed stand up in the Boston Comedy Festival, The Women in Comedy Festival, and Thunderfest. Her writing has appeared on xoJane, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Higgs Weldon, and Yahoo! Beauty. She co-produces a weekly show called The Mendoza Line and writes/performs sketch comedy with Magenta Strike Squad.

John Paul Rivera
has been entertaining audiences in New England with his hilarious jokes and unkempt hair. He has a smart take on dumb decisions that he wouldn’t take back. He has been a comic in residence at The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square and opened for national headliners like Fortune Feimster and Andy Kindler.

Walnut Da Lyrical Geni
is a comedian, community organizer, singer/songwriter, music engineer, producer, actor, playwright, author, promoter and creative expressions workshop presenter. Shameless plug; Walnut is also known for his infamous homemade eggplant parm dish.

Friday the 13th is an auspicious date for the Marblehead Arts Association to welcome folks from the community for a return of Masquerade. The MAA has a history of throwing fun and successful masquerade parties.

There is nothing unlucky about what promises to be a night of mystery, music and masks in the hauntingly elegant King Hooper Mansion. Hearty hors’doeuvres will satisfy even the most superstitious appetites and a cash bar will keep the festivities flowing. Costumes are encouraged and will be celebrated. There will be an online auction of 13 masks prior to the event. These works of art made by selected MAA artists will rival the best masks created for Carnivales in Venice or Rio and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Bidders will want to bid early and often to claim a unique piece to be worn for the night of the event. Tarot card readings, a mystery raffle and scavenger hunt will keep party goers on their toes. Musical entertainment and dancing will round out the party for a truly memorable Fall celebration.

All proceeds will go to fund the exhibits, programming and operations of the Marblehead Arts Association. Each year the MAA must raise 100% of its budget to support its mission. The Marblehead Arts Association is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Sponsors are now being invited to support this MAA Fall FUN-draiser and proper recognition will be a high priority in all marketing and advertising materials. For details of how your support will benefit your business, please send inquiries to Executive Director, Patti DiCarlo Baker; pbaker@marbleheadarts.org.
